Ok, I must admit this totally looks intimidating to a sane person. I like to keep my beauty routine on the edge sometimes, even if that means trying this scary-looking skin treatment. I didn’t know what to think of it the first time I found out about the Derma Roller. The whole concept did sound unusual but exciting. So I figured, why not give it a try?!

With all the 540 small needles piercing through skin’s surface, you can feel a little popping effect, and, yes, it’s a bit painful. You have to be careful not to scratch your face, so just go slowly…

Look at that monster!

But after all the pain comes a beautifully glowing skin! I like to use a toner and a strong moisturizing serum right after the “rolling treatment” to let my skin absorb all the good stuff deeper than my usual routine does. I don’t do this treatment often, but when I do, it’s at night before going to sleep. By the morning all the little marks from poking are gone and skin had time to rest and restore. This treatment helps to diminish/prevent wrinkles, boosts collagen production, softens scars and helps to control acne.

Although Derma Rollers are not for everyone, I do feel like it’s beneficial to one’s beauty routine if done right. You can also use it on your body to treat cellulite, stretch marks, as well as promote cell and hair regeneration. I find it too painful to use on my body though, so I stick to the face treatment only.

If you decide to give Derma Roller a try, do some research and make sure you understand how it works to avoid hurting your skin and yet get all the benefits it offers.
