MUN Aknari Brightening Youth Serum

This serum is a perfect multitasking product because you can use it on your face, neck, and as an eye serum. Aknari Serum is oil-based and absorbs quickly. It contains prickly pear seed oil, argan oil, rose oil among other skin-loving ingredients, providing antioxidant protection and brightening tired, dull skin. This serum smells very natural and luxurious. You only need a drop or two for each use, rub the oil between your hands and pat onto your face or dab a small amount on your under eye skin. I love how soft and supple my skin feels afterwards, and how much more rested and brighter my under-eye skin looks.

This serum is great for all skin types and can be used during the day to prep your face for makeup (or to help you rock that no-makeup look!), or as a night treatment to wake up to a well rested, even-toned face.

AMLY Botanicals Silver Rich Face Mist ‘Beauty Sleep’ 

I loved ALMY Radiance Boost Face Mist that I received in one of last year’s boxes, so I was thrilled to try another mist from this line. This ‘Beauty Sleep” face mist is to be used at night, so it is a perfect addition to my night time skincare routine. This silver-rich water mist is healing and restorative, working on producing collagen and repairing skin cells while you are getting a well deserved beauty sleep.

Beauty Sleep Face Mist is full of some of my favorite skincare ingredients, such as Linden oil, Neroli and Geranium floral water, Rose Quartz, Echinacea, to name just a few. Passionflower, Valerian, and Echinacea extracts relieve tension from the day’s stress, calming your mind and soothing irritations on your skin. The deep floral scent is very calming, a perfect way to end the day!

The Boxwalla subscription boxes are a bit pricier than the green beauty boxes I’m used to seeing ($49.95), but they seem to feature luxury green beauty products and plenty of full sized products, so the overall value of the boxes is much higher that the alternatives. The boxes are shipped out every two months, so you actually only spend $25/month and have some time to use up the products you receive before the new box arrives. I think I much rather have a nicer product that I would actually use till the last drop, than keep trying new products and moving on to the next ones as soon as new boxes arrive. It is a gamble though, because you still may end up with the products you don’t care much about. A good way to ensure that you will be happy with the beauty products you receive in subscription boxes is to do some research on previous boxes the company has put together. This way you will know if the box tends to feature the kind of products you’re into or not, no matter what the hype is.

April box features only two products, but they’re full sized and definitely amazing!

AMLY Silver Rich Face Mist

I mean, you can’t go wrong with a good quality natural face mist. This face mist is very special. It is made with silver spring water, high in naturally occurring silver, which is a powerful antioxidant. In addition to various minerals and extracts, this mist is a blend of highly concentrated floral waters, extracts and essential oils (such as Hibiscus, Bilberry, Chamomile, Linden, Jasmine Flower, Neroli Orange Flower, Yarrow, St John’s Wort, Aloe Vera, and more). All these ingredients work to replenish and hydrate your tired skin, adding healthy radiance to your complexion. Needless to say, this mist smells amazing – very natural, refreshing and uplifting.

Twelve Beauty Ideal Moisture Level serum

This serum truly feels like silk on your skin. It is formulated to create a moisture barrier to keep your face well hydrated and protect skin from the damaging effects of environment, air conditioning and heating. This serum is perfect for those with sensitive, dry or mature skin, and those suffering from allergies, or stress or hormone induced acne.

One thing I’ve noticed after using this serum for the first time right after spraying my face with AMLY face mist, is how silky smooth my face felt! The serum seemed to have been vacuumed in by every pore and cell of my thirsty face skin! My face loved it, and so did I!!

All TWELVE products are plant based and naturally scented; they are also completely free of parabens, sulphates, silicones, petrochemicals, or glycols.

I am very happy with my first Boxwalla beauty box! It has great value and the products featured seem to be a good fit for just about anyone. Both products seem to complement each other and are great to be used together.

MarieNatie Love Marie Lip Gloss in “Tickled” ($19)

Although I am not a fan of lip glosses, this is my favorite product in this month’s box. Marie lip gloss in “Tickled” is a beautiful soft pink, gives lips a nice neutral-pink color and shine. This lip gloss feels less tacky/sticky that other glosses, there are natural oils in it that keep lips hydrated for a long time.

Nubian Heritage Patchouli & Buriti Body Lotion ($3)

I am a fan of Nubian Heritage. I have been been using their shower gels and body lotions for a couple years now, and they seem to last forever! Not a fan of patchouli, but if you are, then this Patchouli & Buriti body lotion is for you. It is thicker than your average body lotion, but it leaves your skin well hydrated for a long time. Great for massaging into the dry elbows,  ankles and knees.

French Girl Nail & Cuticle Oil ($10)

Cuticle oils always come in handy. I haven’t tried any in roller form, so this was interesting to try out. Although it’s convenient to use the roller and apply the oil more evenly, I feel like I still need to use my fingers to rub the oil into cuticles. The oil works nicely and has a pleasant scent.

Suntegrity 5 in 1 Tinted Moisturizer ($5)

This is a slightly tinted moisturizer with SPF 30. There is not much pigment/coverage here, it just adds some tint to your skin. I’m not sure if this is s good match for my skin, the moisturizer feels oily and adds unwanted shine to my face. I also noticed that the expiration for this product in July 2017, which is only 2 months away, which is disappointing. This sample sized tube is very small and can easily be used within couple weeks, but it’s still nice to not be pushing so close to the expiration date.

Little Barn Apothecary Blue Yarrow & Geranium Facial Cleansing Oil

I’ve been a fan of cleansing oils for years, so I am always excited to try new ones. It’s important to only use natural and light oils that won’t clog your pores. This Little Barn Apothecary cleansing oil removes makeup easily and leaves my face clean, supple and refreshed. This little pump bottle will last a while, because you only need a couple drops at a time.

KANI Botanicals Galaxy Milk Illuminating Beauty Oil

I would think I have enough illuminators by now to last me a lifetime, but they keep on coming..! I never seem to mind though, especially when they come in such cute little bottles. This illuminating oil is lightweight and has lots of pigment for a perfect dewy shimmer glow. It is super easy to apply using just your fingers to achieve that fresh glowing skin look, or to add a highlight to your cheekbones, eyebrow bones, cupid’s bow, or whatever it is that you’d like to highlight. You can easily layer this oil with your favorite bronzer or blush for a more dramatic look.

Metta Skincare Intensive Replenishing Face Balm

This face balm reminds me of my favorite face balm by Pelle Beauty. It is extremely moisturizing, great for an overnight treatment for those dry, flaky spots. This balm melts into your skin when applied. It does look greasy at first, which is why I prefer to use it at night time, but absorbs into your skin while you sleep. I wake up with a super bright and well-rested looking face after using this balm. And I love the natural herby floral scent of this balm, nothing overpowering.

Formulary55 Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask

This rosehip and pink clay mask is gentle on any skin type. You simply mix it with some water to make a paste and apply in to your face for about 10-15 minutes, or massage it into your skin for 2-3 minutes if you want some exfoliation. This mask detoxifies your face from impurities and leaves it looking brighter and more radiant.

I was truly impressed with the content of this month’s beauty box! There are 6 full and sample/travel sized products, all are pretty darn awesome, if you ask me. Let’s see what’s in the box!

ClariSEA SeaSalt Charcoal Face Scrub

This sea salt and charcoal face scrub detoxifies pores, clearing them from dirt and oil. The scrub exfoliates very well, sloughing away dead skin cells. Great way to get rid of blackheads and clogged pores!

The ingredients list is short: Sea Salt, Mineral Salt, Sweet Almond Powder, and Activated Bamboo Charcoal.

DeVita Solar Protective Moisturiser 

My first time hearing about this brand. This SPF 30+ face moisturizer came in just in time for sunny summer days. This lotion is light, doesn’t feel greasy, and absorbs quickly, which is great for summer.

Ingredients: Micronized Zinc Oxide 19%, Organic Aloe Vera Gel, Purified Water, Capric Triglycerides (from coconut oil), Vegetable Glycerin, Hyaluronic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Stearic Acid, Lecithin Phospholipid, Vitamin E, Allantoin, Grape Seed Extract.

OFRA long lasting lipstick in “Laguna Beach”

Although not advertised as such, this liquid lipstick has a matte finish. I am not fond of matte lips, but following up with a lip balm solves this issue for me. What this lipstick does amazingly well is staying on! It kind of works like a lip stain. I had to work hard to rub off the stain from my arm after doing swatches. This lipstick doesn’t bleed and doesn’t even require a lip liner. Ideal for a long day wear!

“Laguna Beach” is a beautiful peachy-pinkish-nude.

GLOW solid perfume in “Wish”

This solid perfume contains coconut oil, beeswax, organic shea butter, organic cocoa butter, vitamin E and signature scent blend of light florals, white tea, bergamot, as well as light musks.  This all-natural and toxins-free perfume is sparkly and sweet, yet subtle and not overpowering. It doesn’t last as long as regular alcohol-based perfumes do, but also doesn’t give me headache. It is a natural alternative to your daily perfume. I love having the little jar in my purse in case I need a little refreshening.

MAI Couture Vitamin C+E Blotting Papier

I was pleasantly surprised by the full-sized pack of these blotting papier sheets in this month’s box! What a steal! I was introduced to MAI Couture blush papier sheets by another subscription box, but this was my first time trying the Vitamin C+E papiers. This is a booklet of papier sheets infused with Vitamin C and E. It is perfect for keeping in your purse, especially when traveling. Blotting all the excess oil from your face prevents it from breaking out, so these papier sheets are perfect for preventing skin troubles. Love it!

PureSOL Konjac Facial Sponge 

I’ve been using konjac sponges for several months now. As skeptical as I was about them at first, I grew to love them and have accumulated a collection of different kinds (plain white, charcoal, turmeric, pink clay, etc). They are gentle enough yet still exfoliating. I feel like my face gets a nice massage when cleaning with a konjac sponge, it gets the blood circulating and makes my face glow afterwards.

This PureSOL konjac sponge contains activated carbon as well as essential minerals. It is perfect for oily and acne-prone skin, but can be used with any skin type. The texture of konjac sponge massages away impurities from your skin, clearing pores from oil and gradually shrinking them. I like to add a drop of my daily face cleanser to get some foam going, which helps to get all the makeup traces off my face. Face feels soft and smooth afterwards!

Konjac sponges are free of parabens and chemicals. It is an eco-friendly cleansing tool to have, and it is completely vegan and cruelty-free.

This sponge comes with a suction hook so that you can hang it to dry. You want to squeeze out all the water when you are done cleansing, and let it air dry. When you need to use it again, you simply hold it in warm water for 10-20 seconds (or until soft).
