MarieNatie Love Marie Lip Gloss in “Tickled” ($19)

Although I am not a fan of lip glosses, this is my favorite product in this month’s box. Marie lip gloss in “Tickled” is a beautiful soft pink, gives lips a nice neutral-pink color and shine. This lip gloss feels less tacky/sticky that other glosses, there are natural oils in it that keep lips hydrated for a long time.

Nubian Heritage Patchouli & Buriti Body Lotion ($3)

I am a fan of Nubian Heritage. I have been been using their shower gels and body lotions for a couple years now, and they seem to last forever! Not a fan of patchouli, but if you are, then this Patchouli & Buriti body lotion is for you. It is thicker than your average body lotion, but it leaves your skin well hydrated for a long time. Great for massaging into the dry elbows,  ankles and knees.

French Girl Nail & Cuticle Oil ($10)

Cuticle oils always come in handy. I haven’t tried any in roller form, so this was interesting to try out. Although it’s convenient to use the roller and apply the oil more evenly, I feel like I still need to use my fingers to rub the oil into cuticles. The oil works nicely and has a pleasant scent.

Suntegrity 5 in 1 Tinted Moisturizer ($5)

This is a slightly tinted moisturizer with SPF 30. There is not much pigment/coverage here, it just adds some tint to your skin. I’m not sure if this is s good match for my skin, the moisturizer feels oily and adds unwanted shine to my face. I also noticed that the expiration for this product in July 2017, which is only 2 months away, which is disappointing. This sample sized tube is very small and can easily be used within couple weeks, but it’s still nice to not be pushing so close to the expiration date.

S.W. Basic Cream

I saw this cream in a few Petit Vour January Box spoilers and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! I’m obsessed with cute little jars, not only because they’re convenient to carry around with you or store in your nightstand, but also because you can use them to store various tiny items.

This cream is fabulously simple because it only has 3 (yes, 3!) ingredients: Shea Butter, Coconut Oil and Olive Oil. Less is definitely more when it comes to skincare. The Shea Butter used is this cream is wild-harvested in Ghana. I love love LOVE Fair Trade products and what they stand for!

Basic Cream is very rich and moisturizing. It left my skin feeling baby-soft for a long time. I love to put it on my elbows and other dry areas for that extra moisturizing care. You could also use this cream on your face, but my face doesn’t do good with rich creams, so I’m not risking it.

Kaia Naturals Bamboo Tapioca Beads

This is a powder cleanser that you activate by adding water or cleansing oils to it. It is very gentle and can be used daily to remove makeup and cleanse your face. This exfoliating powder formula is made from 100% natural ingredients (coconut, chickpeas, clay and tapioca). Tapioca absorbs all the extra oil, while the deep cleansing clay clears your pores.

My skin has become quite sensitive, but this powder works perfectly without any irritation. After massaging the wet powder into my face, I leave it on as a mask for 5-10 minutes. My face feels softer and very smooth afterwards.

The only thing that I didn’t like about this cleanser is the strong chalky smell. But it does make my skin softer and smoother, so it’s a little price to pay for the great results.

French Girl Organics Rose Lip Polish

I’ll admit it, I don’t feel like paying a high price for a lip scrub product because it’s there for a few seconds until it’s literally going down the drain. But I am definitely not saying they don’t make any difference. I love how well this lip polish exfoliates the delicate lips skin while leaving it moisturized and super soft. It is perfect for winter months when the air is drier and your lips need a little extra love.

This lip polish is filled with quality ingredients such as Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Cocoa Butter, Rosehip Oil, Peppermint and Sea Buckthorn Oils, as well as plant waxes and essential oils.

This product is perfect for prepping your lips for your favorite lipstick or for a French Kiss =)

Evelyn Iona Natural & Organic Gel Eyeliner and  Wooden Liner Brush

When it comes to makeup, my ritual is very simple: eyeliner! So this natural gel liner got me super excited. I ran to try it out first thing after I opened this box. How could I resist the cutest tiny jar?! It’d be perfect for travel or those on-the-go days.

This liner came with a simple wooden liner brush, but you can use whatever brush your normally use. The sharp tip of this brush gave me enough control to produce a simple thin line. The gel liner applied smoothly and looked very natural. I can see it being used for a smoky-eye look if you blend it a little. I had a busy day at school that day, and the liner stayed on without smudging or fading on a humid Seattle day.

The best part is the ingredients of this liner: infused with Grape oil, Castor Oil (hello eyelash growth!), Candelilla wax, Oregano and Vitamin E , this liner doesn’t dry out on your lids and promotes beautiful eyelids skin and longer lashes.

MAI Couture Blush Papier

I think this blush papers are a cool concept. It’s a blotting paper that is also infused with beautiful colors of blush pearls to give your face a fresh glow. I try to keep my makeup bad at a minimum when I travel, but sometimes end up carrying a few items I may only need for one evening out. This blush solves that problem – it’s such a space-saver and no need for a brush!

ZABANA Essentials Glow Stick in “Bare Beauty”

Balms Balms Balms! I love balms! Especially the multi-taskers like this one! The first thing that caught my attention about this “glow stick” was the ah-mazing tropical smell! (Reminds me of my favorite mango cuticle balm). It’s a moisturizing balm for your face, lips and body – whatever floats your boat. Among it’s ingredients are grape seed, avocado, and flax seed oils; shea butter, nectarine extract, and others. Great combination of natural and powerful ingredients!

The description of this Glow Stick claims to have a him tot mica shimmer for added sun-kissed glimmer, but I don’t notice any of it, at least not in the “Bare Beauty”. It’s a bit misleading to think of it as a highlighter. But I do love it’s moisturizing effect on my dry patches and lips!

Blissoma Scentless Stick Natural Deodorant

This deodorant stick by Blissoma excited me at the first glance because of it’s retractable packaging. Yay to not getting my hands dirty! But no, the formula is just too dry to be able to go on smoothly. It crumbles as soon as you touch it, so the only way to apply it is to dab it on and massage it into your skin with fingers. Which pretty much defies the purpose of the retractable stick packaging. The stick also leaves a messy clay-like residue and gets on your clothes if you are not careful.

As far as the effectiveness though, this deodorant does a good job at keeping armpits dry and odor-free. The sweat absorbing powders work well at fighting moisture and stink. Pretty good for a toxin-free natural deodorant. To be honest, I am still much happier with my Routine Deodorant as far as natural deodorants go.

KANI Botanicals Petal Polish Face Mask

I’ve grown to love exfoliating masks as my go-to skin treatments. Brown sugar? Roses? Yes please! This mask-scrub works well at dissolving dead skin cells, revealing younger-looking and soft skin. This mask is full of natural anti-aging skin boosters and antioxidants (Rose Powder  and essential oils, Frankincense and Carrot Seed Oils).

Leave this mask on for a few minutes, then massage gently into your skin. Leaves your face bright and supple!

This box was an exciting one! It’s wonderful to try some new to me vegan and cruelty-free brands yet again!

Pelle Beauty Luxe Beauty Balm ($9)

This plant based face balm provides your skin with needed antioxidants and nutrients, keeping your face moisturized and protected from environmental damage. I was particularly excited about the broccoli seed oil being listed as the first ingredient. I love broccoli seed oil and use it on it’s own few times a week. The rest of the ingredients are amazing skin-savers as well, so I can’t wait to see how it works on my skin in these dry winter months! This balm is perfect for sensitive, dry and dehydrated skin. Watch out dry patches under the nose!

One Love Organics Healthy Locks Dry Shampoo Powder ($12)

I’m a fan of One Love Organics, so I was excited to see it in this month’s PV Box. Dry  shampoos are not my thing, so I will yet again give it away, but this is a great quality organic hair product for those who use dry shampoos. The ingredients are simple, natural and effective. The fine powder softens, strengthens and nourishes hair when you don’t have time or place to wash it. It is great for travel, and the small box can go in your carry-on.

Modern Minerals Lotus Wei Infused Lip Gloss in “Violet Rose” ($24)

This lip gloss is filled with many powerful natural oils and marine collagen, which keep your lips well-moisturized and soft as well as speed up the healing process of dry or chapped lips.

Organic Bath Company Stress Less Body Oil ($2.25) is an essential and carrier oils blend for your body that promotes skin calming, softness and nourishment. The Bulgarian Lavender scent is pretty strong (when is lavender smell not strong?!) but doesn’t hang on for too long.

HANA Eye Oil

I am a big fan of oils, so gems like this HANA Eye Oil are always welcome into my skincare collection. It contains organic jojoba and rosehip seed oils, essential rose oil, and Vitamin E. The ingredients speak for themselves! Simple and effective.

I love having small bottles like this to take with me when I travel. The dark glass keeps products fresh longer as well.

URSA MAJOR Fantastic Face Wash

I like to keep it simple when it comes to a face wash, but it’s fun to try something different once in a while. This Fantastic Face Wash by URSA MAJOR gets into your pores to remove dirt and oil, dissolves dead skin cells, and clarifies your complexion with the help of many amazing essential oils (cedar, spearmint, lime, lemon, rosemary, black spruce, owyhee, vetiver and lavender). The high content of aloe in this face wash helps to soothe irritated skin. Best for oily, combination or normal skin types.

Essence of Vali Sleep A Bedtime Ritual

This little tube is just what you’d imagine it to be – an essential oils mix (lavender, marjoram, cedarwood and ylang-ylang ) that helps you to relax. It does not, as the description says, ease you into a peaceful night’s rest with just one drop. With all the daily stresses and muscle tension, it will take more than some essential oil to put me to sleep. But it is a great addition to waterer rituals you may have to help you fall asleep or relax. I like to combine aromatherapy with a relaxing hot bath and dimmed lights.

HABIT Nail Polish in Disco

Lately I’ve been doing shellac manicures to save myself some time and keep my manis fresh longer. But when something like the HABIT Nail Polish comes along, I don’t mind giving my nails a break. This polish goes on very smoothly, dries quickly, and one layer is plenty. I wash my hands a lot throughout the day  and constantly subject my manicures to many “tests”, so chipping within the first day is sadly an expected occurrence for me with traditional nail polishes. Not with this one! I’m on day 2 of wearing this beautiful color and can’t spot a single chip. It’s a perfect polish to have for those “emergency manicures” when you are late for an event. No more messing up your fingers and steering wheel while trying to paint your nails at a stop-light on the way to a party (maybe I’ve done it, maybe I haven’t).

I got my polish in Disco, which is simply perfect. I love gold and mettalic tones, they go well with pretty much anything. And it is a perfect color for the upcoming holidays. I took way more pictures of this nail polish than I should have, but I wanted to show you this beautiful color under different light settings. It is very reflective, so it’s hard to catch the true color through the lens.

There are so many more amazing colors I’d love to try from Habit, it’d be hard to choose one!

I can never get enough of scrubs, so they are always welcome! I’m particularly interested in MyChelle Fruit Enzyme Scrub in this month’s box because all the enzyme-based products I’ve tried before proved to be very powerful. The tiny Jojoba Beads and refined Bamboo Stem Powder gently polish, while fruit enzymes (Pectin) exfoliate dead skin cells to achieve soft and smooth skin. I can’t imagine not liking this! The smell is – you guessed it – very fruity and natural.

You can never have enough of travel-sized beauty products! Modern Minerals Mineral Finishing Glow in Tea Rose will be a great addition to my travel bag. This finishing powder is translucent with a delicate pink hue and just hint of shimmer. The key ingredient – mica powder – reflects light from the face and creates the illusion of a smoother, softer and more radiant skin. Helps to create that flawless face finish we love!

Yarok Feed Your Shine Hair Serum is made to protect your strands from damage and heat styling. The blend of vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and essential oils conditions and adds healthy shine to your hair. This serum is not very thick and does not feel heavy or oily. Not sure if I’ll be happy with the level of conditioning that it brings, but I will first try. The smell is very strong and herbal (I mostly pick up Camomile), but settles in very quickly and doesn’t become overpowering.

I’m glad that the box included two of the JUARA Clove Flower & Turmeric Anti-Aging Serum samples – it’s nice to be able to try it for a longer time before deciding if the product is for you. This serum boosts radiance and luminosity; smoothes, lifts and tightens skin; reduces redness and evens out skin tone. The powerful antioxidants help protect your beautiful face from environmental damage. Good for any skin type.

In my opinion, the August box is a success! 6 items and great brands! Once again, all these products are Natural, Cruelty-Free and Vegan friendly! True beauty is always natural and ethical =)

This Mango Butter right here! This could very easily become your new summer love! I am SO glad I got to try this fabulous product by Nubian Heritage. At first when I opened it, it smelled a bit too strong and very citrusy. I was very curious to try it on after taking a shower. It is very solid and dense, so you have to work some of the product in your hands to warm it up before applying. What makes this different from all the other body butters that I’ve tried is how fast it absorbs. It doesn’t leave the sticky oily feeling at all, but does moisturize very well. And the smell is much more settle and fruity once applied. Feels and smells so luxurious! Not surprising it already got sold out on PV. A must try product and brand!

After trying several natural, aluminum-free deodorants and antiperspirants, I came to a conclusion that I just can’t rely on them as much as I can on the “bad stuff” with clinical strength protection. Most of the natural deodorants I’ve tried only add a strong herbal or essential oil smell, but do little to prevent the smell or sweat. This little jar of deodorant might be able to change my mind though. The natural cream deodorant by Routine is made with clay to keep your armpits dry. The Sexy Sadie is one of the many scents the brand offers. It has notes of Ylang Ylang, Patchouli(not too strong), sweet orange, cinnamon and vanilla. It is a very sweet and sexy smell. I am very interested in trying out some of the other scents as well after the product passes my “are you keeping me dry” test.

I was pleased to see the Luxe De Mer Rosewater Toner  in July’s box, since I have a thing for floral water toners at the moment. This one is a bit more complex that what I am used to. Aside from the hydrating and rejuvinating rose water, it contains Witch Hazel and some essential oils. The vitamin E boosts your skin’s moisture, and the essential oils carry antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. This toner smells mostly like lavender, tea tree and peppermint. It brings a cooling effect on your face. A great summer toner to keep your face clean!

The AILA Nail Lacquer is 5-Free and chip-resistant. I got the “Doolish” color, which is a warm coral. A perfect alternative for my usually natural or pink nails. Can’t wait to put it on!

In May’s Pretty Powerfull Box:

1. Zabana Essentials Dry Glow Shampoo ($9)

As much as I like the dry shampoo concept, my hair tends to be too dry as it is. So, unfortunately, this little gem won’t be very useful to me specifically. Nonetheless, it is a great travel sized bottle, and you only need a little of the product to do the job. Great for those hot days on the beach!

2. MUN No.11 Anarose Toner ($2)

I must admit, I wish this sample was bigger that what it is. A little disappointed, since this is one brand I’ve been dying to try. I will have to make use of this tiny sample and hopefully have an idea about how I feel about it.

3. NYL Shimmer Scrub ($11)

This scrub spilled out in the box before it got to me. Not sure if it was supposed to be oilier or not. The packaging needs to be a bit more secure for shipping.

I will have to reserve this scrub for a day out on the beach, the shimmer is not my idea of daily glam. It does smell very sweet and citrusy, more like a sweet orange peel.

4. Lippy Girl Vegocentric Organic Lipstick ($23)

I got this lipstick in “Surf Betty”, which is not available on Petit Vour but is available directly on Lippy Girl. Surf Betty was a perfect color pick for me! It is not too light, with a slight brownish-peacy to it. A perfect smooth nude lip look!

Lippy Girl lipsticks are very creamy and well-pigmented. They’re crafted with natural oils (Castor, Jojoba, Shea butter), waxes (Carnauba Wax) and mineral  pigments. I’m looking forward to trying more colors from this line!

It is always super exciting to receive Petit Vour Boxes. I love being introduced to new vegan and cruelty free brands and their products, and this is a perfect way to try before you commit to a product. For $15 a month it’s like Christmas morning once a month =)
