The Boxwalla subscription boxes are a bit pricier than the green beauty boxes I’m used to seeing ($49.95), but they seem to feature luxury green beauty products and plenty of full sized products, so the overall value of the boxes is much higher that the alternatives. The boxes are shipped out every two months, so you actually only spend $25/month and have some time to use up the products you receive before the new box arrives. I think I much rather have a nicer product that I would actually use till the last drop, than keep trying new products and moving on to the next ones as soon as new boxes arrive. It is a gamble though, because you still may end up with the products you don’t care much about. A good way to ensure that you will be happy with the beauty products you receive in subscription boxes is to do some research on previous boxes the company has put together. This way you will know if the box tends to feature the kind of products you’re into or not, no matter what the hype is.

April box features only two products, but they’re full sized and definitely amazing!

I mean, you can’t go wrong with a good quality natural face mist. This face mist is very special. It is made with silver spring water, high in naturally occurring silver, which is a powerful antioxidant. In addition to various minerals and extracts, this mist is a blend of highly concentrated floral waters, extracts and essential oils (such as Hibiscus, Bilberry, Chamomile, Linden, Jasmine Flower, Neroli Orange Flower, Yarrow, St John’s Wort, Aloe Vera, and more). MarieNatie Love Marie Lip Gloss in “Tickled” ($19)

Although I am not a fan of lip glosses, this is my favorite product in this month’s box. Marie lip gloss in “Tickled” is a beautiful soft pink, gives lips a nice neutral-pink color and shine. This lip gloss feels less tacky/sticky that other glosses, there are natural oils in it that keep lips hydrated for a long time.

Nubian Heritage Patchouli & Buriti Body Lotion ($3)

I am a fan of Nubian Heritage. I have been been using their shower gels and body lotions for a couple years now, and they seem to last forever! Not a fan of patchouli, but if you are, then this Patchouli & Buriti body lotion is for you. It is thicker than your average body lotion, but it leaves your skin well hydrated for a long time. Great for massaging into the dry elbows,  ankles and knees.

French Girl Nail & Cuticle Oil ($10)

Cuticle oils always come in handy. I haven’t tried any in roller form, so this was interesting to try out. Although it’s convenient to use the roller and apply the oil more evenly, I feel like I still need to use my fingers to rub the oil into cuticles. The oil works nicely and has a pleasant scent.

Suntegrity 5 in 1 Tinted Moisturizer ($5)

This is a slightly tinted moisturizer with SPF 30. There is not much pigment/coverage here, it just adds some tint to your skin. I’m not sure if this is s good match for my skin, the moisturizer feels oily and adds unwanted shine to my face. I also noticed that the expiration for this product in July 2017, which is only 2 months away, which is disappointing. This sample sized tube is very small and can easily be used within couple weeks, but it’s still nice to not be pushing so close to the expiration date.

Little Barn Apothecary Blue Yarrow & Geranium Facial Cleansing Oil

I’ve been a fan of cleansing oils for years, so I am always excited to try new ones. It’s important to only use natural and light oils that won’t clog your pores. This Little Barn Apothecary cleansing oil removes makeup easily and leaves my face clean, supple and refreshed. This little pump bottle will last a while, because you only need a couple drops at a time.

KANI Botanicals Galaxy Milk Illuminating Beauty Oil

I would think I have enough illuminators by now to last me a lifetime, but they keep on coming..! I never seem to mind though, especially when they come in such cute little bottles. This illuminating oil is lightweight and has lots of pigment for a perfect dewy shimmer glow. It is super easy to apply using just your fingers to achieve that fresh glowing skin look, or to add a highlight to your cheekbones, eyebrow bones, cupid’s bow, or whatever it is that you’d like to highlight. You can easily layer this oil with your favorite bronzer or blush for a more dramatic look.

Metta Skincare Intensive Replenishing Face Balm

This face balm reminds me of my favorite face balm by Pelle Beauty. It is extremely moisturizing, great for an overnight treatment for those dry, flaky spots. This balm melts into your skin when applied. It does look greasy at first, which is why I prefer to use it at night time, but absorbs into your skin while you sleep. I wake up with a super bright and well-rested looking face after using this balm. And I love the natural herby floral scent of this balm, nothing overpowering.

Formulary55 Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask

This rosehip and pink clay mask is gentle on any skin type. You simply mix it with some water to make a paste and apply in to your face for about 10-15 minutes, or massage it into your skin for 2-3 minutes if you want some exfoliation. This mask detoxifies your face from impurities and leaves it looking brighter and more radiant.

The Hero Oil by Poetic Blend

The Hero Oil plant-based multitasking beauty oil is a must in your summer bag! This lightweight oil soothes and promotes healing of your skin, as well as provides hydration boost to skin, hair and cuticles. “The Hero oil is always up for a fight”!”

The scent is subtly floral (Gardenia) and has slight tones of Patchouli, Lavender, and Ylang Ylang from the proprietary essential oil blend.

Ingredients: Squalene oil, Apricot Kernel oil, Calendula Herb oil, Monoi de Tahiti oil, Grape seed oil and a blend of essential oils.

FiOR Minerals Ignite Illuminator

Illuminators and highlighters have been all the rave in the past year or two. They are perfect for creating that youthful skin glow and highlighting your beautiful eyebrow and cheek bones. Ignite Illuminator is a very subtle version of highlighter. It gives a very slight and natural-looking illuminating effect, there are no sparkles in here whatsoever. I do think this illuminator is just a bit too subtle, BUT it is great to use on your lips instead! I love the slight light effect on the top of my lips, gives them more definition and sexiness!

I’m not too crazy about Titanium Dioxide being in the list of ingredients in this illuminator. But it seems like it is only dangerous when inhaled, such as what you get from loose powders, but it is considered to be completely safe when applied in lotion and liquid/paste form.

Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Castor Seed Oil, Carnauba Wax, Cocoa Seed Butter, Rosehip Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E Oil, Rosemary Extract, CI 77019 Mica, Iron Oxides, CI 77891 Titanium Dioxide, Silica.

Think of the opposite of a desert…This Kalahari Eye Serum is a hydration mirage come true! I am not even close to getting tired of Juice Beauty products in PV boxes. Every product excites me in its own way. This cleansing milk is perfect for my sensitive and dry skin, but it is said to work well on any skin type. This cleanser is a good makeup remover (although I’ not sure about a heavy caked up face). It doesn’t irritate my skin and makes it super soft and plump. It is full of hydrating oils (grape seed, neroli, sweet almond, safflower, sesame seed, and more) and nourishing vitamins (E, C, B5). I love the hydrating sensation I get on my face after using it!

Ingredients: white grape juice, red raspberry juice, aloe juice, vegetable glycerin, caprylic/capric triglyceride, safflower seed oil, sunflower seed oil, sesame seed oil, sweet almond oil, grape seed oil, cetearyl alcohol, gluconolactone, cetearyl glucoside, sorbitan stearate, sodium benzoate, marigold flower extract, chamomile extract, linden flower extract, frankincense extract, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Vitamin B5, xanthan gum, tetrasodium glutamate diacetate, allantoin, sodium hydroxide, sweet orange & sweet neroli , chamomile and frankincense essential oils.

Geranium has skin-tightening effect, reducing the appearance of fine lines; it also calms irritated skin and speeds up the healing process of blemishes and acne. I like to use it as a pick-me-up spray during the day.

Lauren B. Beauty Dual Top/Base Coat

Big fan of Lauren B. Beauty polishes, so I am super happy to receive this dual base/top coat. Not only is this polish 5-free, but it applies smoothly and dries off super fast. Keeps manicures shiny and chip-free longer.

Yarok Feed Your Moisture Shampoo

This shampoo is perfect for dry and damaged hair. It doesn’t strip hair of its natural oils, leaves locks hydrated and restored. This shampoo contains some powerful restorative oils such as Argan, Coconut and Hemp Seed oils. I love using such a moisturizing and nourishing shampoo in addition to my conditioner.

S.W. Basic Cream

I saw this cream in a few Petit Vour January Box spoilers and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! I’m obsessed with cute little jars, not only because they’re convenient to carry around with you or store in your nightstand, but also because you can use them to store various tiny items.

This cream is fabulously simple because it only has 3 (yes, 3!) ingredients: Shea Butter, Coconut Oil and Olive Oil. Less is definitely more when it comes to skincare. The Shea Butter used is this cream is wild-harvested in Ghana. I love love LOVE Fair Trade products and what they stand for!

Basic Cream is very rich and moisturizing. It left my skin feeling baby-soft for a long time. I love to put it on my elbows and other dry areas for that extra moisturizing care. You could also use this cream on your face, but my face doesn’t do good with rich creams, so I’m not risking it.

Kaia Naturals Bamboo Tapioca Beads

This is a powder cleanser that you activate by adding water or cleansing oils to it. It is very gentle and can be used daily to remove makeup and cleanse your face. This exfoliating powder formula is made from 100% natural ingredients (coconut, chickpeas, clay and tapioca). Tapioca absorbs all the extra oil, while the deep cleansing clay clears your pores.

My skin has become quite sensitive, but this powder works perfectly without any irritation. After massaging the wet powder into my face, I leave it on as a mask for 5-10 minutes. My face feels softer and very smooth afterwards.

The only thing that I didn’t like about this cleanser is the strong chalky smell. But it does make my skin softer and smoother, so it’s a little price to pay for the great results.

French Girl Organics Rose Lip Polish

I’ll admit it, I don’t feel like paying a high price for a lip scrub product because it’s there for a few seconds until it’s literally going down the drain. But I am definitely not saying they don’t make any difference. I love how well this lip polish exfoliates the delicate lips skin while leaving it moisturized and super soft. It is perfect for winter months when the air is drier and your lips need a little extra love.

This lip polish is filled with quality ingredients such as Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Cocoa Butter, Rosehip Oil, Peppermint and Sea Buckthorn Oils, as well as plant waxes and essential oils.

This product is perfect for prepping your lips for your favorite lipstick or for a French Kiss =)

Evelyn Iona Natural & Organic Gel Eyeliner and  Wooden Liner Brush

When it comes to makeup, my ritual is very simple: eyeliner! So this natural gel liner got me super excited. I ran to try it out first thing after I opened this box. How could I resist the cutest tiny jar?! It’d be perfect for travel or those on-the-go days.

This liner came with a simple wooden liner brush, but you can use whatever brush your normally use. The sharp tip of this brush gave me enough control to produce a simple thin line. The gel liner applied smoothly and looked very natural. I can see it being used for a smoky-eye look if you blend it a little. I had a busy day at school that day, and the liner stayed on without smudging or fading on a humid Seattle day.

The best part is the ingredients of this liner: infused with Grape oil, Castor Oil (hello eyelash growth!), Candelilla wax, Oregano and Vitamin E , this liner doesn’t dry out on your lids and promotes beautiful eyelids skin and longer lashes.

MAI Couture Blush Papier

I think this blush papers are a cool concept. It’s a blotting paper that is also infused with beautiful colors of blush pearls to give your face a fresh glow. I try to keep my makeup bad at a minimum when I travel, but sometimes end up carrying a few items I may only need for one evening out. This blush solves that problem – it’s such a space-saver and no need for a brush!

ZABANA Essentials Glow Stick in “Bare Beauty”

Balms Balms Balms! I love balms! Especially the multi-taskers like this one! The first thing that caught my attention about this “glow stick” was the ah-mazing tropical smell! (Reminds me of my favorite mango cuticle balm). It’s a moisturizing balm for your face, lips and body – whatever floats your boat. Among it’s ingredients are grape seed, avocado, and flax seed oils; shea butter, nectarine extract, and others. Great combination of natural and powerful ingredients!

The description of this Glow Stick claims to have a him tot mica shimmer for added sun-kissed glimmer, but I don’t notice any of it, at least not in the “Bare Beauty”. It’s a bit misleading to think of it as a highlighter. But I do love it’s moisturizing effect on my dry patches and lips!

Blissoma Scentless Stick Natural Deodorant

This deodorant stick by Blissoma excited me at the first glance because of it’s retractable packaging. Yay to not getting my hands dirty! But no, the formula is just too dry to be able to go on smoothly. It crumbles as soon as you touch it, so the only way to apply it is to dab it on and massage it into your skin with fingers. Which pretty much defies the purpose of the retractable stick packaging. The stick also leaves a messy clay-like residue and gets on your clothes if you are not careful.

As far as the effectiveness though, this deodorant does a good job at keeping armpits dry and odor-free. The sweat absorbing powders work well at fighting moisture and stink. Pretty good for a toxin-free natural deodorant. To be honest, I am still much happier with my Routine Deodorant as far as natural deodorants go.

KANI Botanicals Petal Polish Face Mask

I’ve grown to love exfoliating masks as my go-to skin treatments. Brown sugar? Roses? Yes please! This mask-scrub works well at dissolving dead skin cells, revealing younger-looking and soft skin. This mask is full of natural anti-aging skin boosters and antioxidants (Rose Powder  and essential oils, Frankincense and Carrot Seed Oils).

Leave this mask on for a few minutes, then massage gently into your skin. Leaves your face bright and supple!

This box was an exciting one! It’s wonderful to try some new to me vegan and cruelty-free brands yet again!

Pelle Beauty Luxe Beauty Balm ($9)

This plant based face balm provides your skin with needed antioxidants and nutrients, keeping your face moisturized and protected from environmental damage. I was particularly excited about the broccoli seed oil being listed as the first ingredient. I love broccoli seed oil and use it on it’s own few times a week. The rest of the ingredients are amazing skin-savers as well, so I can’t wait to see how it works on my skin in these dry winter months! This balm is perfect for sensitive, dry and dehydrated skin. Watch out dry patches under the nose!

One Love Organics Healthy Locks Dry Shampoo Powder ($12)

I’m a fan of One Love Organics, so I was excited to see it in this month’s PV Box. Dry  shampoos are not my thing, so I will yet again give it away, but this is a great quality organic hair product for those who use dry shampoos. The ingredients are simple, natural and effective. The fine powder softens, strengthens and nourishes hair when you don’t have time or place to wash it. It is great for travel, and the small box can go in your carry-on.

Modern Minerals Lotus Wei Infused Lip Gloss in “Violet Rose” ($24)

This lip gloss is filled with many powerful natural oils and marine collagen, which keep your lips well-moisturized and soft as well as speed up the healing process of dry or chapped lips.

Organic Bath Company Stress Less Body Oil ($2.25) is an essential and carrier oils blend for your body that promotes skin calming, softness and nourishment. The Bulgarian Lavender scent is pretty strong (when is lavender smell not strong?!) but doesn’t hang on for too long.
