I’ve decided to allow myself some time on my birthday to upload some pictures from my trip to Chihuly Garden this week. Beautiful place to visit if you’re in town, day or night! Chihuly Garden Glass Museum is right across from the Space Needle, so a day full of adventures is promised.

Essential Oils In The Air

Can you smell all these fabulous oils I’ve burning lately?! The weather is cooling-off, and nothing gets me in a warmer mood than burning some essential oils.

I’m so glad I still have this beautiful stone oil burner that I got when I was working at The Body Shop some time ago. It is very easy to use and looks so inviting. I like to pour a little water into the top, let the candle warm it up a little, and then add my oils. Makes them burn longer.

As for the oils, I’ve been using the Edens Garden Oils, but there are so many other great brands out there. For a beginner, you may want to start with a pre-mixed scent, or get a little starter kit of the oils that appeal to you the most. I tend to go a little crazy and get everything at once, but there is no need to have them all. I like to mix my own little “recipes” depending on my mood. Today, it is “Cinnamon Bark + Sweet Orange + Grapefruit + Rosemary”. A sweet and spicy perfection!

The view of Mt. Rainier never fails to amaze me on a clear sunny day! By no means am I promoting everyone moving here: it rains ALL the time and we are doomed to perish from The Very Big One. But if you have never been to Washington, summer is the best time to visit this beautiful state. Every year people gather for the Seattle Seafair to watch Blue Angels Air Show over Lake Washington, and it is always super fun and breath-taking! If you get a chance to be on the boat for the show — even better! Thousands of people gather for a great time with their families and friends: drinks, food, loud music, water activities, and more. If you are bringing your kids, watch out of the topless ladies though =)

Ok, I was sarcastic about the constant rain and the destruction theory…But it IS getting a bit overcrowded in here! Here are some pictures from the Air Show!

SPA Day Any Day!

Make it a point to find some time at least once a week to have a relaxing SPA session at home. Your body will thank you afterwards. The stress of work, school, social life and daily struggles can feel overwhelming, but all it takes sometimes is some unwinding to clear your mind and look at everything from a fresh perspective. I’m not much of a shower person, I much rather relax in a hot HOT bath every day. Laying in a bath lets my muscles relax and my worries drift away for a minute. To help me soothe my common back and neck pains and headaches, I reach for aromatherapy, such as this Lavender & Thyme Soy Candle. Makes my SPA experience even more enjoyable!

Lavender is a great option for natural healing of many common health issues. To name just a few, it helps with insomnia, depression, migraines, nausea, stress, acne.
