It’s been a minute, but I’m back again with some new exciting tips and products! Are you ready?!

Many of my friends have been asking to do a post on fighting cellulite, so I will try my best to guide you through my favorite tools and products to help you win this war!

First off, you need to understand the nature of cellulite. Many link it to being “fat” or overweight, but it is not necessarily the case. So many thin and fit women have to battle cellulite as well. Cellulite results from enlarged body fat cells pushing up against the connective tissue, which then pushes everything up against the top layers of skin, creating the unsightly dimpled look.

How do the healthy body fat cells get enlarged? Our body stores toxins in our fat to minimize the exposure of toxicity to vital organs. The more toxins you take in through time, the bigger the fat cells get, therefore, the more cellulite you’ll see. The key to recuding cellulite is to detox your body and prevent further accumulation of toxins. There are endless ways to detoxify your body. Regular excercise, reducing sodium intake, and staying hydrated will make a huge difference in helping you flush out the toxins out of your body.

But if you follow all that advice and still don’t see the toned skin you’re dreaming of, try some of these next products and tools I’ve picked from my own favorites. It does take a DEDICATION to see results, so you have to be consistent in your treatments. It’s not always easy, but try to dedicate half an hour a day to helping yourself reach your goal. It will pay off sooner than you know!

1. My new favorite! DRY BRUSHING

cellulite brushing

Dry brushing is a great way to stimulate the lymphatic system to release toxins. This helps to redude the size of the fat cells and the appearance of cellulite.

Dry brushing also sloughs off dead skin cells, letting your skin better absorb any other lotions and treatments you may be using. Aside from that, dry brushing is a great way to get rid of the appearance of stretch marks and promoting elasticity and glow of your skin.

It may feel a little painful at first, just take it easy as you body gets used to this new procedure. I actually love the tingling sensation I get from it now! Feels refreshing!

Try dry brushing before going in the shower. Slough away all the dead skin cells and open up skin pores for better cleaning. Generously moisturize afterwards for that soft and glowing skin!

Find a brush with natural, non synthetic bristles that are stiff but not too hard.

I found my brush at The Body Shop. It’s small and comfortable to hold, the bristles are firm but not too harsh on my skin.

Here is a bigger brush from TBS, some people like the extra handle to get to those hard-to-reach spots.

2. CUPPING

Cupping is a very popular spa treatment for cellulite. Using a suction cup to stimulate blood flow and separate the fat layer tissue from the top layers of skin, it eliminates trapped toxins and smoothes out the bumps.

I found it quite painful at first, even got several bruise marks. But it all went away in no time, and I can certainly say that I’ve seen the results fast. I love how this procedure tightens skin the next day as well!

There are various techniques for cupping. Try watching some youtube videos to help you figure out the best ones for you.

Make sure to have a good massage oil when cupping! You cannot do it on dry skin! I will list my recommendations below.

3. Cellulite Massager

This is probably the most known tool for treating cellulite. The body massager  stimulates blood circulation to detoxify and smooth your skin. Use with an anti-cellulite oil for best results.

4. Anti-Cellulite Creams and Massage Oils

The beauty industry has made a fortune on selling the hope of a cellulite-free and toned body. While many of the endless products sound promising, most of them don’t work, at least not on their own. Save yourself money and don’t fall into this trap. There are only a few of product that I’d recommend in addition with the tools I’ve mentioned earlier.

The Body Shop Spa Fit Massage Oil is my favorite to use with cupping or body massager. It smells a little strong, but I like how my skin feels the next day. I always wake up to firm toned skin after doing a night treatment. The other products in this line are pretty good as well. The Spa Fit Firming and Toning Gel-Cream Massager is a convenient way to apply the gel without a mess, and the brush that is attached to it is a great massager! I like to take the massager part off and use with the oil though.

One of my new massage cream favorites is the DivaStuff Moroccan Mint Anti-Cellulite Cream. It smells so exotic and makes my skin feel super soft and tight. The Pineapple Orchid Cream is a little lighter but also smells amazing! Both creams contain Ashwaghanda, Horsetail, Juniper Berry, Oregano and other herbal essences that help fight cellulite.
