I’ve been eager to post my review of these vegan and cruelty-free cream eye shadow favorites for some time, so I am thrilled to finally have the time to do so. I am personally not too crazy about traditional powder eye shadows, although I do own a few. I feel like they make my eyelids look dry, plus my eyes get sensitive from the powder getting into them. With my makeup style and preferences, there is not much need for an eye shadow anyways, but I do like to use lighter shades to brighten up my eyes when needed. So, my latest obsession has been cream eye shadows. They give you that “wet eye” look that is just so sexy, and they keep your lids moisturized.
Here are my favorites!
GRESSA‘s new Eye Tint in “Aureo”
This one is my favorite, mainly because the color is just so perfect. It is a golden shade that is shimmery but not sparkly. It gives that perfect wet-eye look without too much pigment. I am in love with this shade!
Another wonderful factor is that Gressa’s Eye Tint does not crease compared to others. I usually have to use an eye shadow primer before applying powder or cream eye shadows alike, but with Gressa there is no need to. It goes on as cream and sets in as a velvety powder that does not become dry later on.
I can totally see using other darker shades of Gressa Eye Tints as eyeliners, but I have yet to try them. I don’t really like mixing my cream eye shadows with liners or darker shades because I feel like the others “melt” on top of my base cream shadow as the day goes by. So I go for the natural one-shade look without having to worry about weird makeup patterns on my face.
100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Eye Shadow in “Belize”
“Belize” is a perfect shimmery nude shade that almost blends in with my skin. It does have some peachy-pink to it, but it comes out as a pretty neutral color with a slight sparkle to it. I did feel like I could go with a little less glitter in my eye shadow, but it is so fine and shimmery that it actually doesn’t looks like too much with a simple makeup look. I love wearing this shadow as is, followed by some mascara.
Unlike Grease’s Eye Tint, I did notice some creasing on my lids after a while. As long as you’re not wearing anything else aside from the shadow, it is easy to fix the creasing my lightly patting your lids with finger or a q-tip. Being the natural formula that this eye shadow is, this is not enough to discourage me from wearing this wonderful product. This shadow delivers antioxidants and nutrients to your lids, keeping them nourished and moisturized.
100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Eye Shadow in “Bahamas”
“Bahamas” is a lighter neutral shade with champagne shimmer. This shade brightens up my lids and makes my eyes pop.
To be honest, I don’t see THAT much difference between Bahamas and Belize, although they look quite different when in their pots. Belize is certainly much lighter, but that’s about it. It has the same lid-nourishing effect and gives you that shimmery bright eye look. All of the above-mentioned eye shadows can be applied with your finger or with a cream eye shadow brush. They’re all easily build-able depending on how much pigment you want. I love a light layer over my lids for an effortless bright eye look. Perfect for minimalist beauties out there!
Below are some swatches I tried to capture under various lighting. It is quite challenging to capture the true beauty of these reflective shimmery shades in pictures, but I hope these help at least somewhat.
